PRAYER: FINDING OUR WAY BACK TO GOD.

I am currently working on my second book "PRAYER: FINDING OUR WAY BACK TO GOD."

I will gladly receive your input on what prayer means to you.

To me prayer is simply communication between man and God. It is the means by which we request the assistance of God in our day to day life.

Note that prayer is not a resignation from human responsibility; prayer is actually an active involvement in life and being responsible as humans. We watch and pray, in other words, whilst praying, we are still alert!
  • They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon (Nehemiah 4:17)
Many of us have replaced what we need to do as humans with prayer, but it does not work that way. Prayer is just pleading God assistance and help for us to be able to do what we have to do as humans. Prayer is like having a spouse...everyone does their part of their responsibility. If one spouse, decide to neglect their responsibility, things get unbalanced. In prayer God does His part, we do ours.

When David returned from war, his camp has been ransacked by the enemy. See what he did.

  • And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him , Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
  • So David went  (1 Samuel 30:8-9a)
Do you see the two responsibilities (God answered him, Pursue....David went(pursued). When you get a direction or insight from God, take action...work on it. Dont pray for more insight, your first step will open the other 'doors' of insight.

Bless you. I will be looking out for your insights on prayer.
